As a state-sponsored network of National Writing Project sites, we provide opportunities for teacher learning and leadership that will improve the teaching of writing. This site connects the eight Kentucky sites with one another and helps us reach out to educators interested in the Project's work in our state.

George Ella Lyon's Offer to Schools and Writing Project Sites
by Jean Wolph - Sunday, 7 September 2008, 09:31 AM

Dear Writing Project Teachers,

My thanks to those of you who have expressed interest in having me as a visiting author in your school.

I know times are tough, and to ease that as much as I can I’ve decided to let my fee include expenses other that air travel.  This means if you book me through visitingauthors.com, you will pay nothing more for mileage, food, and lodging.  This lowers your cost and also simplifies the process.

I hope this will make it more feasible for us to continue working together.

For more information about the kinds of programs I do, go to georgeellalyon.com.  I’m also happy to tailor my presentation to specific issues you would like to focus on.

All best wishes for a great year!  And don’t forget those journals . . .

George Ella
